Cuba fosters collaboration between universities and scientific bodies

HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 18 (ACN) The signing of collaboration agreements between universities and delegations of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (Citma by its Spanish acronym) in Cuban provinces will continue during the rest of this month, with a view to improving the Science, Technology and Innovation System, approved by the Council of Ministers.

The development and strengthening of research, scientific, training and institutional cooperation relations are essential objectives of these agreements, announced the agency's Communication Department in a wide-ranging report on the initiative.

It pointed out that they were recently signed, in the presence of Eduardo Martinez Diaz, Minister of Citma, with their territorial representations in the eastern Granma and Holguin, by the university centers of the Ministries of Higher Education and Public Health, in addition to the branches of the Academy of Sciences of Cuba.
It also indicated that they also pursue the purpose of promoting the exchange of experiences, scientific knowledge and services among specialists, managers, teachers and students of both institutions so that their activities contribute to the sustainability of Cuban society.

In turn, they encourage collaboration in the management and execution of research, development and innovation projects that contribute to the National Economic and Social Development Plan until 2030, and in the provision of scientific-technological services and events, projects and training courses that promote their development.

According to the document, they promote the organization of national and international scientific events, workshops, technical meetings and seminars, especially with young people; consulting, exchange of experiences and provision of assistance, scientific-technical information and the strengthening of the Government Management System based on Science and Innovation.

They will present joint publication of books, monographs, articles, manuals, methodological guides, brochures and instructions in specialized publications, according to the standards of each institution and subject to the intellectual property rules in force, as well as accepting and sharing financing from third parties for national and international projects and the publication of books, articles, monographs and other materials that so require.
