HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 12 (ACN) Ricardo Cabrisas, Cuban deputy prime minister, held a meeting with Belarusian premier Roman Golovchenko, in the context of his visit to that European nation, on the occasion of the 11th Session of the Intergovernmental Commission for economic and trade collaboration.
During the meeting, the importance of focusing efforts on the expansion of the compensated trade mechanism and the implementation of projects in the production sector on which they have been exchanging in recent months was highlighted.
Cuban side proposed strengthening work in banking and financial, industrial, agri-food, health, pharmaceutical and biotechnology cooperation, on a mutually beneficial basis.
Both parties agreed that the stage of initial exchanges and recognition of opportunities has been overcome, so it is time to move on to action, make decisions and start implementing projects of bilateral interest, in sectors such as the food industry, the manufacture of agricultural equipment and the production of medicines.
Golovchenko said that Belarus and Cuba are not only partners, but long-time friends and comrades, adding that there is coincidence in terms of opposition to the pressure of sanctions, in response to the independent and sovereign foreign and domestic policy.
For his part, the Cuban deputy prime minister conveyed to the Belarusian premier a message of greetings and admiration from President Miguel Diaz-Canel and Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz.
Cabrisas explained, regarding the 11th Session of the Intergovernmental Commission, that it has provided the opportunity to exchange on bilateral relations, the main limitations and the ways to solve them.
During the day, the Cuban delegation also visited the MTZ tractor factory, where they appreciated its productive results and scientific-technological advances.
