HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 5 (acn) The Second Secretary of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party (CC of the PCC), Jose Ramon Machado Ventura, received a delegation of the People's National Party (PNP) of Jamaica, now visiting the island at the invitation of the PCC. The delegation is headed by Angela Brown-Burke, Vice-president of the Party, Senator and Mayor of Kingston since 2012.
During the meeting, held on Thursday afternoon, there were exchanges on the current work of the two political organizations and on the complex international situation. The historic bonds uniting the two parties were tackled as well as the current context of the Caribbean region.
Angela Brown-Burke expressed her gratitude for the valuable information and attentions received in the meetings that her delegation previously had with Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez and the vice-president of the National Assembly of the People's Power (Parliament), Ana Maria Mari Machado and during the visit of the delegation to Artemisa.
Also participating in the meeting were Noel Arscott, vice-president of the PNP, parliamentarian and Minister of Local Government and Community Development; Anthony Hylton, vice-president of the PNP, parliamentarian and Minister of Industry, Investment and Trade; and Paul Burke, General Secretary of the PNP. Cuba was also represented by Jose Ramon Balaguer, member of the Secretariat of the CC of the PCC and head of its Department of International Relations, and other officials of the PCC.
