BAYAMO, Cuba, Abr 26 (ACN) The construction of a new photovoltaic solar park that will contribute 21.8 Megawatts (MW) of clean energy to the electric system of the eastern province of Granma is currently in the process of basic and detailed engineering.

This will allow the start of the civil works, whose schedule is planned to begin on the 10th of that month, and includes the layout of the park, its perimeter fencing, preparation of platforms, guardhouses, central booths, lighting, location of tables, internal roads, among other works to be carried out by the Granma Construction and Assembly Company, the executive explained.
Alvarez Suarez stressed that, in line with Cuba's policy for the change of its energy matrix until 2030, the present stage of work in Granma includes the progress of similar investments in the municipalities of Rio Cauto, Manzanillo and Niquero.
These are three other sites that are currently in the initial phases of clearing and conditioning of the land, as well as their corresponding engineering-geological studies and topographic surveys, he concluded.
