Cuba warns of US insistence on overthrowing its Revolution

HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 19 (ACN) The events that took place on Sunday in the eastern city of Santiago de Cuba, Bayamo and the eastern Cardenas, where residents expressed their dissatisfaction with the shortages and difficulties that impact on the daily lives of families, left some lessons, the first of which is that the U.S. government insists on trying to overthrow the Revolution.

In the Informative program Mesa Redonda, prestigious journalists referred to the denunciations made by Miguel Diaz-Canel, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the country, and the foreign ministry, as a result of such provocations encouraged by the administration of Joe Biden, its embassy to Havana and the anti-Cuban mafia, by encouraging actions against the internal order of the country.

Arleen Rodriguez, winner of the 2O23 National Journalism Award and deputy director of this radio-television program, pointed out how in the midst of gigantic efforts of the workers of the Antonio Guiteras thermoelectric plant to conclude its maintenance and thus alleviate the serious situation of blackouts, the enemies of the Revolution tried to "heat up" the streets before this industry could synchronize itself with the national electric power system.

She recalled the current context in which the country is facing not only with the annoying blackouts, but also with factors associated with them such as the increase in the international price of fuel, the energy and financial persecution of the United States against Cuba (and Venezuela) and the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

Also in the program, President Diaz-Canel's statement was read in which he emphasizes the willingness of the Party, State and Government authorities to attend to the demands of the Cuban people. "To listen, to dialogue, to explain the numerous steps being taken to improve the situation, always in an atmosphere of calm".
In this regard, journalist Barbara Betancourt considered as another of the lessons learned from Sunday's events the need for the cadres to be in closer contact with the population, in terms of keeping them informed without the need to act only at a moment of crisis, and then at that time to find the solution to the problem when it could have been much earlier.

Another of the panelists, Oliver Zamora, in reference to the direct responsibility of the U.S. government for the difficult economic situation that Cuba is going through due to the genocidal blockade imposed on it, described as outrageous and cynical the meddling of the U.S. Embassy to Havana in internal affairs in Sunday's events.

The three journalists and Randy Alonso, host and director of the Informative program, referred to the media campaigns or manipulation campaigns mainly from Miami, where the anti-Cuban mafia is hoping for another July 11, 2021, when Cuba faced (and neutralized) disturbances encouraged by the enemies of the Revolution.

As reported by the Cuban foreign ministry, Benjamin Ziff, Chargé d'Affaires of the United States, was summoned to the foreign ministry (MINREX by its Spanish acronym) by deputy minister Carlos Fernandez de Cossio, who formally conveyed to him the firm rejection of the meddling behavior and the slanderous messages of his government and its embassy in the internal affairs of the Cuban reality.

The destabilizing plan and its execution are evident for all to see, says the Minrex statement, and stresses that it rests on the reinforcement of a ruthless economic war to provoke and exploit the natural irritation of the population.
