HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 11 (ACN) Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the country, stressed in Havana the need to share the country's socio-economic priorities, understand them and apply those priorities in each place with the active participation of the workers.
With the indispensable unity among all, the government's projections are aimed at finding solutions to the problems arising from the complex situation existing in the nation, Diaz-Canel said Saturday at a meeting to evaluate the results of the management of the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources (INRH) in 2023.
He added that it is essential for each business board of directors to count on the support of its labor force, particularly young people, in order to obtain efficiency and profitability levels in each company, and to eliminate losses that undermine the credibility of the system as a whole.
The Cuban president emphasized the need to eliminate negative behaviors, labor indiscipline, absenteeism, and to work on food production, prices, transportation and water, which are the main problems currently affecting the population.
Diaz-Canel was accompanied by Manuel Marrero Cruz, member of the Political Bureau and Prime Minister, who emphasized that the Government Projections are the guiding line for the work at this time and its measures which have gradually begun to be implemente.
In the presence of provincial and national business executives of INRH, guests from different organizations and other leaders, he stressed the need to renew traditional styles in the introduction of the institution's strategies, particularly as regards fuel, electricity, price increases, water consumption and basic services, in spite of the economic, financial and commercial blockade by the US government.
In this sense, he advocated the strengthening of the business system, efficiency in general, the settlement of accounts receivable, greater labor stability and changes in the energy matrix to such an extent that, even if the electricity fails, people will have water available.
