HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 11 (ACN) Cuba will host the 2nd International Meeting of Theoretical Publications of Leftist Parties and Movements, to be attended by 90 delegates from 32 countries.
One of the main goals of the assembly is to maintain a more effective relationship among media outlets and discuss a collective action plan, according to event coordinator Enrique Ubieta Gómez, director of the journal Cuba Socialista—theoretical and political organ of the Communist Party of Cuba—who stressed that unity of the left and young people’s stance on fascism and neo-fascism are of paramount importance.
“Since the first meeting was held,” he said, “intellectuals, personalities, thinkers and academics have taken an active stand against both the ideological, political, economic and military offensive of U.S. imperialism and the traps of the doctrine (…) despite our differences and without either relinquishing the theory or losing our identity.”
The program of the conference features workshops on the action plan, research programs on the challenges posed by imperialism's media war, and related training courses, as well as editorial measures to salvage and disseminate the work of the heroes and martyrs for the independence and social justice of the peoples of the South.
The 1st International Meeting of Theoretical Publications of Leftist Parties and Movements took place in February 2023 and gathered some 100 personalities from 34 countries, in addition to about 40 Cuban thinkers and academics.
