Cuban VP makes working visit to western province

ARTEMISA, Cuba, Feb 9 (ACN) Salvador Valdes Mesa, Cuban vice president, exchanged with the organizational structure of the Provincial Administration in Artemisa and checked the results of the contracting process of agricultural products for the current year.

Ricardo Concepcion Rodriguez, Governor of Artemisa, explained the organizational structure of the Provincial Administration, made up of 21 provincial directorates, five assurance and support units; the departments of attention to the population and legal advice, the information and informatics and communications centers, as well as a management post.

The person in charge of each area explained the staffing situation (completeness) and the projections, that is, whether the current staff is appropriate or whether it needs to be modified.

Valdes Mesa emphasized the need to complete the staff, especially in the Directorates of Economy and Planning, and Territorial Development, because of their impact on the municipalities.

Cuban vice president was interested in the effectiveness of the contracting process of agricultural products for the current year and the fulfillment of production and sales in January.

This month the province exceeded its commitments in different areas; it was discussed the need to pay attention to energy saving and achieve greater control of productions and their commercialization.

Gladys Martinez Verdecia, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (CCPCC), and first secretary of its Provincial Committee, accompanied the leader on the day.
