
CIENFUEGOS, Cuba, Dec 29 (ACN) With the presence of Dr. Roberto Morales Ojeda, member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, held today in Cienfuegos the 8th Ordinary Session of the Municipal Assembly of People's Power in Cienfuegos (AMPP) in the 18th term of office.
The meeting was attended by Maryde Fernandez Lopez, member of the Central Committee and first secretary of the Party in the province, vice governor Yolexis Rodriguez Armada and Santiago Gonzalez Acosta, president of the AMPP Cienfuegos.
During the meeting of the municipal governing body they summarized the economic activity of the demarcation in 2023, in addition to presenting and approving the Budget and the Economy Plan for the next year.
Saray Pis Gonzalez, Director of Economy and Planning in the capital city, presented the results and expressed that they expect to conclude 2023 with net sales exceeding 32,523 million pesos, with a default of 25.7 %.
In the case of profits, she pointed out that they should end with 3,425, 188 pesos, 8 % below what was projected due to the decrease in activities, the deficit and the increase in the cost of raw materials, the increase in the price of parts and pieces, among other causes.
Regarding the retail circulation, the official affirmed that they intend to close with 1,575 billion pesos, with an overcompliance of 29 %, at the same time that they have completed all the investments.
She said that the municipality has 47 local development projects and 123 micro, small and medium enterprises approved by the Ministry of Economy and Planning.
Pis Gonzalez announced that for the first quarter of 2024 the municipality has a net sales plan of 47,190 billion pesos for a 45% growth rate.
The actions for the integral transformation of neighborhoods and communities in vulnerable situations, the attention to disadvantaged people and groups, the delivery of construction materials and subsidies to mothers with three or more children, the housing policy, the measures for saving resources, as well as the production of food, goods and services were the focus of the delegates' analysis.
Among the illegalities are the violation of prices, especially of agricultural and transport products, the sale of goods with abusive and speculative amounts, the commercialization of products not approved in projects of self-employed workers, out-of-date slates in warehouses and points of sale, surpluses and shortages in Commerce facilities.
When making an account of what happened this year, Morales Ojeda emphasized that steps have been taken for a better control and use of the budget, in function of the improvement of the quality of life of the people of the provincial capital.
He also highlighted the good experiences in food production, such as the Barbados Martyrs Cooperative, independent producers with efficiency and good yields without counting on technological packages for the harvest of various crops, fruit trees, vegetables, as well as meat and milk.
The look at agricultural production, the neighborhoods in vulnerable situations and rural settlements, the confrontation of indiscipline and defense actions must also involve popular participation, summarized the political leader.
