HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 18 (ACN) For a better implementation of the Comprehensive Policy for Children, Adolescents and Youth in Cuba, deputies discussed today the proposals aimed at these age groups of vital importance in society.
Before the Commission of Attention to Youth, Childhood and Equal Rights for Women of the National Assembly of People's Power (ANPP), Jorge Luis Perdomo Di-Lella, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic, considered that the regulation, approved during the current legislature, is under construction and requires a transforming concept that links the Central State Administration Agencies (OACE by its Spanish acronym), academic institutions and social and mass organizations.
According to Perdomo Di-Lella, actions for Cuban children, adolescents and young people are directed towards strategic areas such as the formation of cultural and identity values, recreation, sexual and reproductive health and the use of information and communications technologies.
He referred to the creation of working groups to prepare a legal instrument - be it a law, decree-law or code - to ensure respect for the rights and contemplate the duties of these population groups.
Naima Trujillo, Cuban minister of education, stated that all the actors of the society must be involved in order to comply with the stipulations of this governmental policy for children, adolescents and young people in accordance with the demands of the present times.
She insisted on sensitivity through communication and the results of scientific research to better connect with these audiences that make up the new generations.
From the education sector, Trujillo raised the importance of diversifying the offerings for young people to generate a balance in technical-professional training and ensure the continuity of studies to prepare the qualified personnel the country needs.
The head sof education said that within the framework of the 3rd Improvement of the Educational System, the Technical-Professional Education is immersed in the organization of its school network, which must resemble the professional competencies needed by its students.
For his part, Walter Baluja, minister of higher education, insisted on the knowledge of Cuba's history and national identity in order to understand the path we are following.
The Comprehensive Policy for Children, Adolescents and Youth, approved this year, is aimed at coordinating all the factors involved in the various conditions experienced by Cuban children, adolescents and youth, as well as to mainstream their rights and conceive the younger generations as strategic actors of development.
