Cuban Grateful to China for Recent Food Donation

Artemisa, Dec 12 (ACN) A recent food donation by China will benefit children and vulnerable citizens in this western Cuban province.

The action was made official on Tuesday during a meeting with Chinese ambassador to Cuba Ma Hui.

Cuban Communist Party leader in Artemisa Gladys Martinez thanked the supportive gesture which includes powered milk, rice, cooking oil and wheat flour. She said the milk will be taken to the local pediatric hospital Jose Ramon Martinez; the rice and the oil will be distributed to vulnerable households while the flower will be used to make crackers for the children in the province.

Ambassador Ma Hui said that although it’s not a large assistance, the gesture has great significance because—he said—it’s an example of the joint efforts by both countries and a proof of people-to-people friendship.

The Chinese diplomat recalled that President Xi Jinping always has the people present in his heart, while Cuban leader Fidel Castro used to say that he would always stand by the people.
