HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 6 (acn) The National Electoral Commission (CEN), was officially constituted on Tuesday in this capital for the forthcoming partial elections to elect delegates to the National Assemblies of the People's Power.
During the solemn ceremony held at the Jose Marti Memorial at Revolution Square, as established by the Electoral Law, the 17 members of the CEN signed -in the presence of Homero Acosta, Secretary of the Council of State- the official document reflecting the act of taking up their posts and received the certification accrediting their designation.
The oath was read by Alina Balseiro, who took up her post as president. Ruben Perez and Tomas Amaran assumed the positions of vice-president and secretary, in that order.
The rest of the members are Maria Esther Bacallao, Minerva Valdes, Caridad Alvarez, Marina Capo, Joselin Sanchez, Felix Antonio Jardines, Ernesto Rodriguez, Zenaida Salome, Rita Maria Rial, Noel Martin, Livia Montes de Oca, Leonidas Rodriguez, Reinaldo Rosado and Arnel Medina.
