HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 14 (ACN) Salvador Valdés Mesa, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba and vice president of the Republic, is holding official talks today with Kashim Shettima, his Nigerian counterpart, who is in Cuba to attend the G77+China Summit.
Joining Valdés Mesa in the conversations with the distinguished Nigerian visitor are Josefina Vidal Ferreiro, deputy minister of Foreign Affairs; Deborah Rivas Saavedra, deputy minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment; and officials from the Divisions of Bilateral Affairs and Sub-Saharan Africa of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
As reported by the Cuban Embassy in Nigeria, Mr. Shettima remarked, before leaving for Havana, that he was proud and happy to visit Cuba, a country he admires for its resistance and courage in the face of the inhumane 60-plus year-old U.S. blockade, and that he expected that his presence in the Summit will contribute to strengthen cooperation between both nations.
