Matanzas, July 19 (ACN) A Cuban cooperative in this western province, known as ATRES, has been producing plastic wood items for some time now for tourist facilities in an effort to costly imports from the world market.
Some of the plastic wood products and infrastructure include, dumpsters, park benches, different kinds of platforms, foot bridges to access beaches and stairs to get down to tourist attractions like caves and resorts.
Cooperative vice-president Jose Antonio Soto told the Cuban News Agency that his business, which has produced and commercialized decorative and functional items for the past 9 years, is now involved in a technological development to increase its output and to recycle PVC wastes into products for their trade purposes.
Plastic wood, made up of the recycling of plastic wastes, is a viable option at the world market given its versatility and functionality, its positive environmental impact.
