HAVANA, Cuba, Jul 17 (ACN) A project to establish the basis for acquiring international accreditation as a Sustainable University will be presented tomorrow at the Enrique Jose Varona Convention Center of the University of Havana (UH).
The initiative will be promoted on Tuesday at a workshop on alliances with a view to developing an energy transition strategy and achieving that category promoted by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
A group of managers linked to renewable energy sources will take part in the meeting with a view to establishing coalitions in the strategic university mission, UH specialists told the Cuban News Agency.
The 10th International Conference on Renewable Energy, Energy Saving and Energy Education was held in late June in Havana and its agenda included the use of renewable energy sources in their hybrid (integrated) systems and storage: wind, photovoltaic, solar, thermal, hydro, biomass, biogas, tidal, hydrogen, fuel cells and storage, isolated and connected to the grid.
Also, their impact on local development and its policies, management, business and financing models, on transportation and smart microgrids, as well as on savings in combustion, boilers, flow machines and generation systems.
