Cuban builders continue remodeling work in emblematic theater

 HAVANA, Cuba, Jul 3 (ACN) The construction of the Karl Marx Theater, which has been inactive since March 2020, is progressing gradually and so far 12 million pesos have been invested with the theater's income, and with the collaboration of companies and MSMEs.

The restoration process presents many complexities, between the repair of floors, disassembly, preparation and assembly of the seats, we have been working for 11 months, Juan Ramon Reyes Enriquez, head of the assembly brigade of Muebles Habana, belonging to the company Industria Cubana del Mueble Dujo, told Tribuna de La Habana.

Vladimir Bermejo Cabrera, general producer of the theater, added that a new fire alarm was installed, the entire protocol room was repaired and the power generators have been restored, while the air-conditioning system and its structure are still in demand.

As of June 2023, as specified in the report, only the center's cafeteria is in operation, a service that represents a source of income to support the demands of the facility, in addition to the construction work.

Maritza Montes de Oca Deulofeu, general director of the theater, stated that the objective of this process is to achieve higher quality in the construction work and guarantee the safety of the public.
