Matanzas, June 15 (ACN) A 10-year-old girl who was in critical conditions and artificially ventilated over the past few days at Matanzas provincial pediatric hospital passed away Thursday due to the injures received at a traffic accident last Friday in the western province of Mayabeque.
The young girl, from the western province of Artemisa, was the fourth fatal victims of the collision between a truck carrying passengers and a cistern truck at kilometer 73 on the Via Blanca highway.
Hospital director Julio Ernesto Hernandez told the Cuban News Agency that all medical resources available to treat the young girl.
On Wednesday five patients were discharged from hospital, including two small girls—7 and 13 years of age—who were treated at the pediatric hospital. Three adults were also discharged from the provincial Faustino Perez hospital.
