Saint Lucia Defends Principles of Integration and Solidarity

Saint Lucia Defends Principles of Integration and SolidarityHAVANA, Cuba, Dec 14 (acn) For the first time we have a movement of integration, solidarity and cooperation, asserted on Sunday in this capital the Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Kenny Anthony, at the 13th Summit of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Americas-Trade Treaty of the Peoples (ALBA-TCP), on the occasion of its 10th anniversary.

This is the mission and historic responsibility of the ALBA-TCP, added the Caribbean statesman, who paid tribute to the founders of the bloc: the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, and late Commander Hugo Chavez.
He mentioned the basis of common solidarity in the region promoted by Fidel and the vision and dreams of Chavez of establishing a system of cooperation, equity and changes as alternatives for peoples in the region.
Anthony recalled the gesture of December 8, 1972, of the four countries of the English speaking Caribbean that established diplomatic relations with Cuba: Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana and Jamaica, which demonstrated to a large extent that we decide who our friends are, he stated.
He praised the decision of Saint Kitts and Nevis and Grenada to join the ALBA-TCP, a membership that should be made official during the meeting under way at Havana's Revolution Building.
