Cuban Authorities Supervise Parcel Reception and Delivery Services

Havana, June 6 (ACN) Cuban deputy Prime Minister Jorge Luis Tapia said on Tuesday that despite the shortage of fuels affecting the country, integral work has been done to achieve acceptable performance in the international parcel reception and delivery services.

During a meeting with directives and representatives of Cuban companies in the reception and delivery of non-commercial cargoes shipped to Cuba from other parts of the world, Tapia said that the activity is a priority for the government, that’s why supervision takes place every week.

The official referred to the potential of these companies to contribute to the country’s economy by supporting food production with new alliances and businesses. He called for efficiency in the dispatch of parcels and in keeping in touch with the clients.

Cargo transportation director Pablo Cuellar said that they received 160 thousand 552 packages up to May 31st through different companies and delivered 153 thousand 941 packages to 97 thousand clients.
