Botanical Exhibit will Greet World Environment Day
The event will allow visitors to admire and purchase different plant species and exchange with experts about how to grow and care for them, as a major attraction of the exhibit to be hosted by the Conservation Office of the City till June 7 under the sponsorship of the Juan Tomas Roig Association of Fans of Botanical Sciences and the Protection of Nature.
Association president in Matanzas Marisol Gil told the Cuban News Agency that the collection of raw material is also on the event’s agenda because the international day is dedicated to recycling and circular economy this year.
Also included is a scientific workshop on good practices in the management of substrates, grafting techniques and reproduction of plants.
According to Gil, different associations and institution will sign cooperation agreements during the event to favor their interests, goals and projects.
The promotion of growing different plants varieties in tune with the protection of nature and supporting scientific research are some of the goals of the local association, set up in May 1993.
