Havana to host international dog show in its spring edition

HAVANA, Cuba, May 8 (ACN) The International All Breed Dog Show, in its spring edition, will be held in Havana on May 27 and 28, announced the Board of Directors of the Cuban Cynological Federation (FCC by its Spanish acronym).

More than 200 animals of 30 breeds have been registered for the event, including four from Mexico, confirmed its organizers at its headquarters in the Cultural Station of Linea and 18, in El Vedado, municipality of Plaza de la Revolucion.

In an exclusive interview with the Cuban News Agency, they stated that the number may increase, since breeders usually make their subscriptions at the last minute for reasons of transportation of their dogs.

They also added that the tournament will award points for the Cuban, Central American and Caribbean, Latin American, Pan American and International championships in the Young, Adult and Veteran categories.

The most recent meeting of this kind took place last February at the International Dog Show in Havana, in its winter edition, at the Cultural Station of Linea y 18, the former El Carmelo Tramway Station, which is in the process of being refurbished for its integration into visual arts, design and architecture.

The Cuban Cynological Federation was founded in 1987. It is a member of the International Cynological Federation and groups the national associations of Cocker Spaniel Breeders and Afghan Hounds, as well as the Boxer, Havanese, Collies, Great Dane, German Shepherd, Dalmata, Doberman, Chihuahua and Dachshund clubs.
