Cuba to award young scientific students and researchers

 HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 27 (ACN) A group of Cuban students, young researchers and technologists will receive today in Havana the awards and mentions for the results of their scientific creation in 2022.

According to its call, the awards correspond to Pedagogical, Medical, Physical Culture, Technical, Informatics and Computing, Agricultural, Natural and Exact, Social and Humanistic Sciences, Biological and non-Biological Processes.

The award initiative arose in 2001 at the request of the scientific society, along with the Young Communist League, and began its implementation in 2004, in coordination with the Youth Technical Brigades and other organizations, and since then more than 500 have been awarded.

Ines Maria Chapman Waugh, Cuban deputy prime minister, led the award ceremony, accompanied by Elba Rosa Perez Montoya, head of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment.

In general, 35 diplomas were conferred on behalf of the 61 congratulated in the country, in each of their categories, some of which coincide their names with those of the Cuban Academy of Sciences for the awarding of its prizes for the results of scientific research.
