Havana, April 25 (ACN) Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel announced on Twitter the upcoming arrival to Cuba of delegations from the Colombian government and the National Liberation Army rebel group (ELN) to hold the third round of peace talks in Havana.
“We ratify our commitment to peace in Colombia hoping that the two sides advance their agenda,” said the Cuban head of state and first secretary of Cuba’s Communist Party.
Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez said that the peace talks will kick off May 2 and said that Cuba act with its traditional willingness and impartiality as warrantor and alternative venue of the talks.
In March the High Commissioner for Peace in Colombia Ivan Danilo Rueda announced that Cuba had accepted a request to host the third round of peace talks between the two parties.
