Wreaths for Cuban Internationalists from Fidel and Raul

Wreaths for Cuban Internationalists from Fidel and RaulSANTIAGO DE CUBA, Cuba, Dec 7 (acn) Wreaths sent by Fidel Castro, historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, and Raul Castro, president of the councils of State and Ministers, were placed on Sunday at the Pantheon to Internationalists, where the mortal remains of 83 combatants rest in this city.

On the occasion of the 25 th anniversary of Operation Tribute, when the mortal remains of persons who died in combat in internationalist missions in Africa were buried in Cuba, relatives and the people of Santiago de Cuba paid tribute to these men at this city's Santa Ifigenia cemetery.
Also honored on this occasion were General Antonio Maceo, on the 118th anniversary of his death in combat, and notable revolutionary Frank Pais, on the 80th anniversary of his birth, expressions of the courage and stoicism of the Cuban people, inherited by these internationalists who died in combat in fraternal African nations.
Attending the political-cultural meeting were Lazaro Exposito, member of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party and its first secretary in Santiago de Cuba province; Reinaldo Garcia, president of the Provincial Assembly of the People's Power; representatives of the Association of Combatants of the Cuban Revolution, and the people.
