SANTA CLARA, Cuba, Apr 6 (ACN) The Commander of the Revolution and Cuban deputy prime minister Ramiro Valdes Menendez began on Thursday a visit to Villa Clara, with the aim of checking the main results in prioritized socioeconomic programs such as food production, energy and housing.
Valdes Menendez insisted on the need to promote the endogenous production of the 174 materials needed to build a house and on the responsibility of the sector's managers to avoid the resale of goods.
Vivian Rodriguez Salazar, National Director of Housing, called for achieving consistency between the production of construction materials and the specific demands of each municipality, from where the solution to this social problem must be truly developed.
She also pointed out a group of products that currently need differentiated attention in the central geography, such as clay tiles (for patrimonial homes), rasilla, pipes, connections and clay tiles, just to mention a few.
According to Alberto Lopez Diaz, Governor of Villa Clara, the province is focusing on the generation of bricks, with a total of 672,000 finished bricks to date, and has the capacity to produce more than 250,000 square meters of flooring.
On the other hand, Armando Hernandez Pedroso, director of the National Office for the Rational Use of Energy (ONURE by its Spanish acronym) in the territory, presented the main results of the development of the Programmable Surveyor device for Energy Controller, a technology resulting from the link with the Central University "Marta Abreu" of Las Villas and which has allowed so far this year to fulfill 3,397 megawatts (MW/h), which is equivalent to 1,029 tons of diesel.
The deputy prime minister also warned about the role of mass organizations in ensuring energy savings in each household.
