Cuban Women Activists Educate against Genre Violence

Santiago de Cuba, April 3 (ACN) An activist organization in favor of the rights of lesbian and bisexual women in this eastern Cuban city, known as Las Isabelas Network—set up in 2002-- promotes education on sexual health, self-esteem and against genre violence.

The group works in all nine municipalities of the province by setting up coordination teams with women from different social backgrounds.

Organization founder Isel Calzadilla told ACN about the educative work they carry out at communities, schools, cultural institutions and in the social media to fight prejudices and encourage respect for diversity.
