HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 2 (acn) Progress in studies of human and medical genetics in Cuba and in other countries of Latin America and the world will be shown in an international meeting in Havana on December 2-5, which will be attended by over 300 national and foreign delegates.
The Melia Habana Hotel will be the venue of the 2nd International Congress on Community Genetics, which is aimed at professionals, technicians and researchers linked to the field of human and medical genetics in Cuba and in other countries, which plays an important role in the prevention, management and diagnosis of genetic diseases and congenital defects, Dr. Hilda Roblejo, Executive Vice-president of the Organizing Committee, told ACN.
Organized by the Cuban Society of Human Genetics, 350 papers will be presented at the forum. Some of personalities of high scientific level of Cuba and the world will participate, which will give keynote lectures, explained Dr. Yaima Zuñiga, member of the Organizing Committee.
The meeting includes pre-congress courses scheduled for Tuesday at various institutions of Havana and the official inauguration will take place on December 3.
