PINAR DEL RÍO, Cuba, Mar 8 (ACN) In view of the situation of the National Electric System, the province of Pinar del Río is reinforcing the control over the daily energy consumption in state-owned companies through a number of measures to cut down on the power demand at the morning and evening peak times.
ONURE, the national bureau of energy use surveillance, is conduction inspections in workplaces to check whether they properly control and register consumption levels. Where a violation is detected by the inspectors—supported by members of mass organizations and workers of various institutions— the entity is subject to a 50% reduction of its fuel assignment for the next three months.
“All enterprises have to control how much electricity they use, hence the relevance of maintaining these methods in place and abiding by the regulations,” according to ONURE deputy director Jesús Rodríguez Suárez, “considering that the existing conditions of the national grid make it impossible to waste electric powers and demand that we check consumption in the State entities to avoid affecting the residential sector.”
