Cuba mourns death of prominent poet

HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 10 (ACN) The poet and improviser Jorge Luis Hernandez Garcia, artistically known as Pompillo, died early this morning, reported the Provincial Company Commercializing Music and Shows "Antonio Maria Romeu".

In a statement to the press, the company regretted his death, describing Pompillo as a poet of great experience and high creative artistic level, as well as a defender of country music.

The text emphasizes that this artist always impressed by the speed and originality with which he constructed his decimas, the depth of his poetry and an exalting human conviction.

It also stresses that he defended every singing imposed foot with talent, demonstrating his knowledge, skills, ethical and moral values.
