HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 27 (ACN) The University of the Caribbean of the Dominican Republic (Unicaribe) and the Cuban Ministry of Education (MES) signed a higher technical assistance agreement, which strengthens their ties in teacher training.
The agreement, signed by Unicaribe and the Export Department of the MES, establishes that Cuba will provide professional services of university teachers to this higher education center, Prensa Latina reported.
Andres Erasmo Ares, head of the MES Export Department, pointed out that the agreement opened for the Dominican community a new collaboration channel for the benefit of both nations.
For his part, the rector of Unicaribe, Jose Alejandro Aybar, reiterated the commitment to collaborate with Cuba, and urged to continue it with exchanges that strengthen the role of the student within the universities.
During 2023, Unicaribe will have several PhDs from Cuba in the categories of Full and Assistant Professor in different fields, such as Hotel Management, Business Administration, Political Science, Accounting, Cybertechnology Engineering, Software Engineering, Marketing, General and Organizational Psychology and International Relations.
According to officials of the Dominican institution, the presence of these academics will contribute to the substantial changes they are undergoing in terms of the professional profile required in the current scenario, both in academic competencies and in values and ethics.
