SANTA CLARA, Cuba, Jan 23 (ACN) A group of 86 members of the 28th South American Brigade of Solidarity with Cuba arrived today in the Ernesto Che Guevara Sculptural Complex in this city to pay tribute to the Heroic Guerrilla.
They arrived with flags of their nations and images of Che and the National Hero Jose Marti, also as a tribute to the most universal of Cubans and apostle of independence, whose 170th anniversary of his birth will be commemorated on January 28.
In statements to the press, members of the brigade reaffirmed their support for just causes, their admiration for Che Guevara, the Cuban revolutionary process and their resounding condemnation of the brutal U.S. blockade against Cuba.
Upon their arrival, the brigadistas were received by Iris Menendez, delegate of the Cuban Friendship Institute in Villa Clara, and by Milagros Artiles, director of International Relations of the provincial government.
At the monument raised to Ernesto Che Guevara, the members of the brigade laid a wreath as a symbol of eternal tribute, and then toured the Memorial and the niches that hold the remains of the Guerrilla of America and his comrades in struggle.
They also visited the Museum that preserves photographs, objects and documents that attest to the testimony of Che's life and work.
