CIENFUEGOS, Cuba, Jan 20 (ACN) Researchers from the National Institute of Agricultural Sciences (INCA by its Spanish acronym) have developed several bioproducts to be used as fertilizers with positive results in agricultural crops in Cuba.
Michel Ruiz Sanchez, professor and INCA specialist, in a recent visit to this territory, told the press that in the strategy of that entity have developed four preparations that are gaining more and more acceptance among producers.
He mentioned the Ecomin with applications to the seeds, to the roots of several lines to achieve greater root growth and therefore good quality of the specimens.
He also referred that Azofert is extended to grain species such as soybean, corn and beans, with results in the saving of biofertilizers and vegetative improvement of the plants, as well as their births, according to the tests carried out in the polygons.
Ruiz Sanchez highlighted Quitomax for its versatility, since it can be used in many species and its use is now being extended to potato production in the country.
The combination, th eexpert added, of all these products in a crop achieves very good results because it achieves the biofortification of the plant, a process that allows a more comprehensive fertilization with higher benefits.
Pectimorf, another bioproduct, speeds up seed germination, promotes the rooting of cuttings, and stimulates growth and yield, according to INCA's website.
Orlando Linares Morel, head of the rice department at the Ministry of Agriculture, pointed out that there is great interest in producing with agroecological techniques and in the widespread application of bioproducts in different crops.
Founded in 1970 by Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, INCA has had a commendable work in the search for technology in favor of sustainable agriculture.
