Havana, Jan 17 (ACN) The 5th International Conference entitled “For World Balance with All and for the Good of All, Dialog of Civilizations” paying homage to Cuban National Hero Jose Marti will take place at Havana’s Convention Center next week.
The forum will close an International tribute-paying season to Jose Marti on the 170th anniversary of his birth to be marked January 28th, said Hector Hernandez, vice director of the Cuban Office for the Marti Program, which sponsors the event.
Over 1 thousand delegates from 82 countries will be attending the conference scheduled to run January 24-28th, Hernandez told reporters in Havana. He added that this has been the largest forum of its kind since 2003 when the UN Education, Science and Culture Organization (UNESCO) set up the Jose Marti International Solidarity Project, which is backed by other international institutions.
The conference includes key-note lectures, working commissions, panels, colloquiums and workshops on the most pressing problems facing the world by scholars, artists, social activists, religious persons, politicians and government members who favor dialog as the best option.
The director of the Cuban Office for the Jose Marti Program, Eduardo Torres Cuevas recalled that Marti evoked the ideas that contribute to world balance, understanding, dialog and the good of humanity.
It is a project for a better world, a world of peace so that human beings can have relations beyond any differences for the sake of all this that makes us more humane, Torres Cuevas noted.
