French Association Launches Initiative against US Blockade of Cuba

Havana, Jan 5 (ACN) The Coopération France (CubaCoop) association announced on Thursday the advancement of an initiative to shield the struggle against the US economic, commercial and financial blockade of Cuba.

The initiative aims at backing Cuba with concrete actions under the conditions imposed by the US administrations for over 63 years now, according to Prensa Latina News Agency.

Some of the actions include urging the European Union to adopt all possible decisions against the US blockade, including the appointment of banks that do transactions with Cuba.

CubaCoop president Roger Grevoul said described the initiative as a significant step in the struggle for justice and the rights of the Cuban people to decide their own destiny.

He recalled that the action was coordinated by organizations and personalities from France, Spain and Italy among other nations and was first launched last September.
