Cuba introduces new system for human resources management

HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 21 (ACN) The Ministry of Labor and Social Security (MTSS by its Spanish acronym) has introduced the Computer System for the Management of Human Resources (Sigerh) in its labor activity in order to facilitate the online pension process and to make the digital labor file in Cuba a reality.

According to Adelaida Puente Aspillaga, director of Organization, Planning and Information of the MTSS, the software was developed by the Defense Information Technology Company (Xetid) and is designed for the individual benefit of each worker.
Once the system is deployed in all the companies and entities of the island, the request for information from the MTSS is eliminated, because it is obtained in real time, she said.

It consolidates the digital labor file, thus eliminating the vulnerability of losing the record of years of service due to paper deterioration or the impact of natural disasters, the official added.

Other benefits of the program are that it allows the processes of the human resources activity, as well as the use of the citizen's single file, authorized by the Ministry of Justice, which groups the data of the Ministry of the Interior validating the identity of the person who is being assisted.

The system incorporates the possibility of using the digital signature, manages the demand for qualified labor force and remote work and teleworking, Puente Aspillaga concluded.
