ALBA-TCP to Celebrate 10th Anniversary in Havana
Bernardo Alvarez, executive secretary of this regional mechanism, asserted that the ALBA-TCP emerged as an alternative to traditional schemes of integration and that today it’s a powerful political alliance that assumes stances in defense of the rights of Mother Earth and human rights, and against interventionism and war.
According to Alvarez, the progress and achievements of the alliance will be spread in countries like Spain, France and Germany among other countries, and the Venezuelan embassies in various nations will carry out activities to spread the significance, goals and plans of the organization.
The 13 th Summit will honor its founders, former presidents Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro, and it is expected that the membership of Saint Kitts and Nevis and Grenada will be made official during the meeting, for a total of 11 member nations.
