Cuban Youths Have always been a Target for the United States

Guantanamo, Oct 24 (ACN) The Empire (United States) has always tried to seduce the Cuban youths, said the historian of the eastern city of Guantanamo Jose Sanchez.

The historian gave his statement while speaking at the local Culture Center Ruben Lopez Sabariego with social workers, culture promoters and vets from the October Crisis, known in the US as the Cuban Missile Crisis.

The place hosted hundreds of militias who went to dig trenches 60 years ago during the crisis to defend their country because on that occasion the world was brought to the brink of nuclear war and Guantanamo people were ready to defend their homeland from a possible US military invasion.

That chapter of Cuban history was marked by the participation of Youths who, like today’s young Cubans, were the targets of subversive activity and ideological warfare, an offensive weapon of capitalism, the historian said.

Lawmaker Idaliena Diaz presided over the event, which also counted on a cultural session.
