Diaz–Canel Meets with President of Pakistani ParliamentHAVANA, Cuba, Nov 8 (acn) Miguel Diaz-Canel, First Vice-president of the councils of State and Ministers, met on Saturday afternoon with Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, President of the National Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, who is in Cuba heading a delegation invited by the National Assembly of the People's Power.

During the meeting, the two leaders tackled issues of mutual interest in the international arena and declared themselves to be in favor of strengthening the bonds of friendship uniting the parliaments and peoples of Pakistan and Cuba.
The visitor expressed his gratitude for the solidarity received by way of the Henry Reeve Brigade after the earthquake that devastated his country in 2005, as well as for Cuba's contribution to the training of over 900 Pakistani youngsters in Medicine.
Attending the meeting were the three deputies of the Pakistani National Assembly composing the delegation and Naeem Ullah Khan, Charge d'Affaires of Pakistan to Cuba, as well as Deputy Yolanda Ferrer, President of the Commission of International Relations of the Cuban Parliament.
The distinguished visitor was previously received by Esteban Lazo, President of the National Assembly of the People's Power, and by the ministers of Foreign Affairs and Higher Education.
