Mexico Returns More Irregular Cuban Migrants

Havana, Aug 31 (ACN) Mexican authorities returned another 60 irregular Cuban migrants who tried to make it to the US border in what they called their 32nd operation of its kind this year, when the total number of Cubans returned from that country has reached 1 thousand 629 persons.
The most recent group of irregular migrants arrived in Cuba on board a Boeing 737 operated by Magnicharters Airlines.

Meanwhile, 88 Cuba adults and two minors, who illegally departed the island, were returned by the US Coast Guard Service on Tuesday, taking the number of returned Cuban migrants to over 3 thousand 680 in 68 US Coast Guard operations.

According to Cuban authorities, some five thousand 500 travelers have been involved in 14 return operations either by plane or ship this year, from Mexico, the US, The Bahamas and Cayman Island in tune with migration accords between Cuba and those countries.

Cuba has reiterated its commitment to cooperate to achieve regular, orderly and safe migration flow, which has been hampered by the United States for not honoring crucial aspects of bilateral migration accords, such as the granting of at least 20 thousand visas annually.
