Díaz-Canel thanks support of Italian organization

 HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 21 (ACN) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez thanked Marco Papacci, President of the National Italy-Cuba Friendship Association (ANAIC), for his unconditional and permanent support to the Cuban Revolution, and mentioned as an example ANAIC’s assistance during the fight against COVID-19 and following the explosion at the Saratoga Hotel and the fire in the province of Matanzas.

“Such gestures,” he remarked, “add to a long record of historical moments when ANAIC has offered help to Cuba, so meeting with you was important to thank you for your solidarity and to state our appreciation for your work in favor of Cuba.”

On his end, Papacci offered the Cuban President his condolences for the unfortunate events, which prompted the organization’s decision to send relief to the Island as part of a cooperation that dates back to 1961.
