MATANZAS, Cuba, Aug 15 (ACN) A part of the area affected by the fire in the industrial zone is now in a clear recovery, said Susely Morfa Gonzalez, first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba in the province of Matanzas, during a working meeting.
Where it is possible there is a fast recovery of electrical systems, communications, fences, and to start up a group of conductors and systems that contribute to important services, she argued.
For his part, Mario Sabines Lorenzo, governor of the territory, confirmed that the cleaning work continues in the area of the industrial zone in the burned perimeter and also in the rest, roads are being rehabilitated, and beautification works are being carried out to change the image.
He also informed that, in addition to the contributions from Mexico and Venezuela, the province received five international donations, and there were contributions from more than 160 Cubans, mainly food, medicines and means of protection.
Sabines Lorenzo commented that more than 800,000 pesos are in the account set up to help those affected by the disaster at the supertanker base; some 810 Cubans contributed money, all of which will be used to repair damages to the affected families.
He also informed that in terms of construction, there are two total collapses and four partial collapses, 67 people continue to be protected, and those who lost all their belongings are being attended to and steps are being taken to replace them as much as possible.
