GUANTÁNAMO, Cuba, Jul 21 (ACN) The implementation in agriculture of nine international cooperation projects worth millions of dollars is of great benefit to the province of Guantánamo.
Alvernis Veranes Favier, delegate of the Ministry of Agriculture (MINAG), said that a number of them, already in full swing, are in line with the sixth of the 63 measures to boost agriculture and achieve food sovereignty, namely the evaluation of external sources of funds and credits, trade and foreign investment.
Another program co-financed by the Cuban State, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Russian Federation, called Digital Transformation in the Livestock Production Chain in Guantánamo Province, is designed to improve the management of this field and tackle COVID-19’s impact on food production, as well as to give stockbreeders access to new computer applications and advanced services to make farm and cattle management more efficient.
