HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 29 (acn) Matanzas strengthened its position as leader of the Cuban baseball by beating 12-7 Industriales yesterday, reaching thus 19 wins this season against only nine losses.
The Matanzas Crocodiles batted 16 hits with highlight by third baseman Jefferson Delgado, author of a homer and two RBIs- while Yohan Hernandez allowed just one hit in three and two-thirds innings to win the game in relief role.
Ciego de Avila ratified itself in turn as second of the standings by defeating 9-1 Isla de la Juventud. DH Humberto Morales hit 2 for 3 with two homers and five RBIs.
