Diaz-Canel highlights Cuban resolution approved at the UN

HAVANA, Cuba, Jul 8 (ACN) Cuban president Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez highlighted today on Twitter the approval at the United Nations Human Rights Council of a resolution presented by Cuba on human rights and international solidarity.

Diaz-Canel shared in his message a fragment of the resolution, which underlines that Cuba does not recognize any country the right to proclaim itself as a policeman or guarantor of religious freedom in the world, nor to issue certifications or unilateral lists.

The Council, in the framework of its 50th regular session, approved Cuba's resolution by a majority vote (31 in favor, 15 against and one abstention).

Cuban representatives to the UN denounced the massive misinformation operations, coordinated and financed from the United States since the triumph of the Revolution; and called for an end to the political manipulation of the freedoms of religion and belief.

In this regard, the Cuban foreign minister, Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, affirmed that international solidarity is a powerful tool to confront the structural causes of poverty, inequality and other world problems.
