All popular councils in municipality of eastern Cuban province with internet access

LAS TUNAS, Cuba, May 30 (ACN) With the installation and operation of two new radio bases, the provincial capital municipality of Las Tunas already has at least one way to access the Internet in all its popular councils, actions that respond to the projects of the Cuban Telecommunications Company (ETECSA) in this territory.

Leandro Cruz Reygada, head of the investment department of ETECSA's territorial division in Las Tunas, told the Cuban News Agency that the new operations consist of the location and implementation of modern radio bases and towers supported by fourth-generation technology (4G) in the rural communities of Veguita and Villa Nueva.

The main objective is to expand and strengthen the networks to reduce interruptions and improve the quality of service, as it is planned to continue implementing the development plan for the deployment of 4G technology, he explained.

Despite the complex epidemiological situation imposed by COVID-19 and the economic difficulties the country is going through, ETECSA in Las Tunas has not renounced to fulfill its investment plan, which has as key objectives for this year to improve the technical parameters of the equipment and expand the coverage map to rural areas and places linked to the central highway, the executive emphasized.

Las Tunas, in line with the country's projections to guarantee the informatization of society, is carrying out an important group of investments aimed at expanding the landline and mobile telephone access network, as well as strengthening the current network and its services.
