Cuba at World Animal Health Forum

Havana, May 25 (ACN) Cuba is participating at the 89th General Session of the World Assembly of Delegates with the World Organization for Animal Health, which wound up Thursday in Paris, France.

For the first time, Cuba attends the event as member of the organization’s council, which is the top government body made of eight nations, according to the Cuban Ministry of Agriculture and the National Center for Animal Health (CENASA).

Representing Cuba is CENASA general director Yobani Gutierrez, who has participated in debates about integration and collaboration with other international organizations in order to unite forces to face the sanitary challenges at the world and regional levels.

The World Organization for Animal Health is an intergovernmental body set up in 1924 to improve animal health and wellbeing; it is made up of 180 countries.
