The discussions will be held at the National Sugar Training Center, where they will focus on the efficiency and effectiveness of our work in view of the structural changes that the sector has undergone, Belkys Linares Meneses, member of the secretariat of the workers' organization, announced.
The debates include the integral development of the sugar agro-industry; union functioning, affiliation and the policy of cadres, she added in exclusive statements to the Cuban News Agency.
Linares Meneses also announced the presentation of Julio Andres Garcia, president of the AZCUBA Sugar Group, which among its main commitments is the generation of freely convertible currency, from the production of goods and services.
However, the epidemiological crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the tightening of the economic, financial and commercial blockade by the U.S. government have had an impact on the fulfillment of its plans, making it necessary to implement 93 measures to save the sugar sector.
