Last day of the Congress on childhood, adolescence and youth

HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 31 (ACN) The last session today of the International Congress of Researchers on Children, Adolescents and Youth, held since March 29 at Havana’s International Conference Center, will feature a debate on the emancipatory paradigms and individual nature of the new generations of Cubans, as well as a meeting of the National Network of Researchers on Youth to share views about child and youth populations.

UNICEF representatives in Cuba and members of provincial community projects will discuss matters related to protective environments and good parenting practices.

Also top of the agenda is the issue of prevention as a safe alternative and zero tolerance to drug use or other activities equally detrimental to the physical and mental health of children, adolescents and young people, along with topics such as the youth employment landscape and the impact of gender in an unequal context.

In previous sessions, specialists stressed the need to prevent teenage pregnancy and hegemonic violence and exchanged views on the technological future of young generations.

The International Congress of Researchers on Childhood, Adolescence and Youth provided a framework for debate about lessons learned from day-to-day scientific work related to current issues.
