Ecuador and Cuba Praise Bilateral Academic Bonds

Varadero, Cuba, March 17 (ACN) The rector of Ecuador’s Riobamba Higher Technological Institute, Tania Parra, acknowledged the significance of the 2nd International Scientific Forum called University and Society 2022 (UniSoc) to deepen relations between Ecuadoran and Cuban researchers.

The event held in person and online activities from March 15-17, and was hosted by the Varadero Beach Center with the attendance of delegates from Europe and Latin America, with Ecuador as sister nation.

The rector told the Cuban News Agency about the opportunities offered to Cubans and Ecuadorians by agreements signed during the event between her institution and the University of Matanzas.

Parra expressed interest in taking Cuban experts to provide training in Ecuador particularly in the indexation of scientific articles in magazines of impact and the use of online libraries.

During the closing session of the UniSoc forum, specialists Mercedes Delgado and Alejandro Cabrera gave a key-note lecture on government management oriented to innovation, which showed the use if sciences in Cuba based on local political will.

The forum included attractions like the 1st Workshop on the computerization of tourist destinations based on the experience of the Matanzas Scientific and Technological Park, located in Varadero. There was also a business and trade fair with the participation of private and state companies.
