New Energy System Set up in Cuban Hotels Prove Beneficial

Varadero, Cuba, Feb 8 (ACN) Tourist authorities and experts acknowledged the positive impact of new energy management systems set up in a dozen hotels in the western tourist center of Varadero, province of Matanzas.

Tourism official in the province, Ivis Fernandez, stressed the significance of the new system, one of its kind on the island, which contributes to save energy and may be an experience to expand to other facilities.

The official took part of an exchange of views with tourist workers and experts with the National Office for the Control and Rational Use of Energy at the Iberostar Hotel, one of the facilities proposed to be certified with the ISO 50001 standards.

Orestes Dobarganes, energy expert, told ACN that the use of automated systems, smart coolers and speed variators for climate pumps contribute to save energy.
